The reason Debian Installer (D-I) has been disabled is no longer under embargo. The reason is:

• Debian live-build MitM Proof of Concept · GitHub
• Debian bug report: live-build should authenticate files it downloads (Thanks to @arraybolt3!)
• This is incompatible with Kicksecure derivative-maker design goal System Security Level:

  • Always use software signatures verification: Software signatures are consistently verified using OpenPGP, codecrypt, APT, or similar mechanisms.
