Did you make sure to choose “erase disk” - if that is OK in your case - as per screenshot that can be found in documentation?

Are you using the latest available Kicksecure ISO? I thought we fixed that bug…
Ok think it was but will try again .
Hi tried it again and had the same issue using the latest download.
Weird. I’ll take a closer look probably later today and see if I can find out what’s wrong. This can happen if your system is booting the fallback bootloader and said fallback bootloader is misconfigured, but I thought we fixed the misconfiguration issue, and your system shouldn’t be trying to boot into the fallback bootloader anyway, so… somewhat of a mystery.
Thanks
Hi have you had a chance to look at this . Thanks
I did not, ended up having other things that had to get done first. Thanks for the ping though, will try to get to it again today.
I’ve figured out the root cause of the issue and am now working on a fix. There’s some bootloader ID confusion happening behind the scenes that is causing the fallback bootloader to not get installed during system installation.
Hi have you had a chance to look at the fix .
I did get a fix created, it will likely land in the next release of Kicksecure. The problem is unfortunately not particularly easy to work around (would require rebuilding the Kicksecure ISO with the appropriate patches, which could cause problems later on with software updates), so you may have to wait for the new release to be made.
If that’s not an option, I might be able to find an older ISO that had this working, which you could then install from, then install updates.
Thanks for the update , I totally understand these things are never simple , if you have the time and can find an older ISO that would be wonderful . Thanks for your help .
It’s not so difficult to find. You shouldn’t view the internet and shiny collection of fancy buttons or a link as a giant blob of unintelligible gibberish. Just look at it and try to find the pattern.
You can explore the website based on the current download link. Then modify that link.
https://www.kicksecure.com/download/iso/17.3.9.9/Kicksecure-Xfce-17.3.9.9.Intel_AMD64.iso
You could try to simply replace the version numbers with a past release.
Or why not remove everything after the slash?

Why not remove everything after one more slash?
