Trying to Install KickSecure on old Lenovo laptop and getting dropped into Grub

My friend has an old Lenovo laptop with 8 GB RAM and I am trying to install Kicksecure. I burn a USB live and then after, instead of booting, it drops into Grub.

When I go into the Bios, it lists the USB as Linpus light.

I have seen others have similar problems for other linux distros and Lenovo laptops and it showing Linpus light with no solution

I think that Lenovo may have done some shitty trick to the bios to make it harder to not install Windows. Secureboot is not on. Any suggestion on how to proceed?
